Want an Exotic Cars? If You Have to Ask How Much They Cost, You Can’t Afford Them

March 27th 2008 | Posted by

What do you think of when you hare the term exotic sports car? Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, or maybe a McLaren. In the truest sense of the term it refers to limited production sports cars made outside of the United States, but built by some of the biggest names in the industry. The McLaren F1 is one such car. Once the fastest car made at 0-60 in 3.1 seconds, it is also one of the most expensive selling for well over a million dollars. There were only 107 produced from 1994 -1998 and it is very rare that one ever finds its way to market.

The McLaren gave up its title as world’s fastest car in 2005 losing it to the Koenigsegg CCR, a Swedish made car…

Porsche vs Ferrari – Which Supercar Satisfies the Exotic Car Lover’s Dream?

March 27th 2008 | Posted by

The fast and luxurious cars from Porsche and Ferrari originated in Europe; Germany and Italy respectively. Both exotic sports cars are more than 50 years old with cutting edge engineering and exquisite styling. These two cars have always been compared for many reasons since they are race cars, cars of status for the rich. Most people always correlate these cars with style and performance.A modern exotic sports car should have the following traits: it should be easy to start, low to the ground, maneuver well around the city with fat tires, able to put your pedal to the metal on a couple of open and safe roads.

The Ferrari 430 and Porsche 911 Carrera S are two sports cars that are begging to be compared…

According to Forbes.com, high gas prices, the war in Iraq and concerns about global warming are fueling interest in cars and trucks with alternative powertrains, like gasoline-electric hybrids, clean diesels, ethanol and, farther in the future, fuel cells that run on hydrogen.

But if you’re a lover of luxury, don’t expect too much choice when visiting the showroom. There are relatively few truly eco-friendly options for luxury-brand car and truck shoppers.

Or, rather, “there aren’t any,” says Jim Motavalli, the editor of E/The Environmental Magazine, and the author of Forward Drive: The Race to Build the Car of the Future. “Luxury cars are too big to be eco-friendly.”

Hyperbole aside, if you do your homework, you’ll find a limited number of high-end, eco-friendly cars…

Overview of the 2008 Lotus Exige-S

February 5th 2008 | Posted by

The Exige S is billed as the quickest Lotus production car thus far. It adds supercharging to the standard car’s inventory, giving Lotus good reasons to boast in the super cars arena. The new 2007 Lotus Exige S redefines “extreme performance” with pure adrenaline and unbridled power. Feel the tempest of engineering and physics as it brokers an intense relationship with the road, bending the air to its will and balancing the dualities of drag and grip. But don’t be intimidated. This raw and addictive sports car will prove itself as equally adept on highways, city streets and back roads as it is on the racetrack. With the 2007 Exige S, Lotus has once again stepped up the pace. The addition of a Roots-type…

the 2008 Lamborghini revention exotic supercar

The Lamborghini Reventon is a supercar that debuted at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. It will be the most powerful and expensive Lamborghini to date, costing one million euro, that’s almost $1.4 million. . The official press release states that only 20 will be built, but it was later reported that the total number would be 100. The exterior styling was inspired by the F-22 Raptor. Although the exterior is partially new, almost the entire mechanics (including the engine) are taken directly from the Murciélago LP640.

Lamborghini upped the ante on absurd car prices when it unveiled the Reventon sports car in Geneva.  The exterior of the 650-horsepower car is made entirely of carbon fiber laid over a carbon fiber and steel frame. Inside,

The 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster

February 3rd 2008 | Posted by

Rational parameters such as sense and sensibility simply don’t belong in the same universe as the new Murcielago LP640 roadster. This Lambo’s craziest element, its soft top, is located about an inch above your scalp. It’s made of a mix of canvas, transparent plastic, velcro straps, and a thicket of black metal bars. I hate it with a vengeance. When the device is in place, you’re advised not to exceed 100 mph or else the outer edges of the roof might come adrift, triggering hurricane-style chaos. But with the roof stowed in the luggage compartment, the topless LP640 can reach a top speed of 205 mph. (As with the LP640 coupe, the name represents the car’s engine position–longitudinale posteriore–and its…

With its 16-cylinder four-wheel drive, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 may well be the most sophisticated production vehicle of all times.
Most of the components tucked beneath its hood are ingenious innovations that were formerly only deemed possible by visionaries like Ferdinand Piëch.

Boasting a maximum speed of more than 400 km per hour (253mph), the Veyron is unmatched in the super sports category. It offers a total of 1,001 HP, and its ample power reserves even at high speeds are the fabric of dreams for luxury-class limousines: for a constant speed of 250 km/h, the Veyron only needs 270-280 HP. This means that the seven-gear clutch transmission works with a torque of up to…

2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera exotic sports car and muscle car

What makes a Gallardo Superleggera, a Gallardo Superleggera? Is it the ultra-sleek body paneling? The commitment to craft, in the absence of the butterfly doors commonly found on its roster mates like the Murcielago, Countach and Diablo in order to shave the excess weight of the bulky hinges? The $246,000 price tag? Or, perhaps, all of the above, plus a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds, and the esteem that accompanies cruising the strip in an Italian supercar? The Gallardo Superleggera is the performance variant of Lamborghini’s entry level hyper coupe. Sketched in expectation of the new Ferrari Scuderia, the stampeding-bull-badged manufacturer has made notable advances for the upcoming production model, but will that be enough when it is rated on both luxury…
